Unlike the previous singles released from TEEN’s upcoming album Love Yes, “Please” dims the lights, and mellows out the track list. The Lieberson sisters, Teeny, Katherine, and Lizzie, grew up in rural Nova Scotia before moving to New York to peruse a music career. Along with bandmate Boshra Al-Saadi, TEEN recently made the trip back home to record Love Yes, providing a nostalgic place of inspiration for their latest single. Keyboardist and vocalist Lizzie explains:

“Please” is actually about my father, who passed away a few years ago. The whole song is basically me wishing I could have a conversation with him. It’s about trying to remember what he would say, but also how he saw me. I’m asking myself what did he see in me, and who am I without him and his guidance.”

“Please” carefully deconstructs the album’s synth-guided style, staying true to their ’80s vibe, but with an artistic, heartfelt dream pop demeanour composed of transfixing harmonies and slow-burning melody.

You can pre-order Love Yes and catch TEEN on tour (dates below).
