Sights & Sounds: Beau’s All Natural Brewery Oktoberfest – October 2nd, 2015
Oktoberfest is Wunderbar!
Pretzels, sauerkraut, beer, and more beer were plentiful Friday evening at Beau’s Oktoberfest. Spanning over two nights in the beautiful town of Vankleek Hill, the beer festival has become a popular right of passage into the fall months.
And what else to pair with the stellar local beer than Canadian musicians?
Enjoy the concert gallery from Friday night’s performances featuring The Elwins, Pack A.D., The Dears, and headlining act Yukon Blonde!

The Elwins
Newmarket indie pop group The Elwins have been gaining more and more attention due to their infectious upbeat take on music. After signing with Hidden Pony Records last fall, the four-piece have been touring around the world and making sure everyone has heard their latest record Play For Keeps. Find a copy through their website and follow them on the internet!
The Pack A.D.
Sometimes less is more – as is the case with Vancouver garage rock duo Pack A.D. Known for their ability to generate space-filling rock and dishing out gritty guitar hooks, the female pair accomplished this at Oktoberfest amidst the frigid temperatures and rowdy beer-filled crowd. Check out their website for more updates and information!
The Dears
Montreal-based group The Dears have drilled their name into the indie music history books as one of the most dynamic and influential indie rock bands. Specializing in dark, noir-pop sounds and expansive, chamber rock magnitude, the five-piece brought their intensity to the festival. Less than a month ago, they released their sixth studio album Times Infinity Volume One and are expecting to release the second instalment in the upcoming year. Head to their website to connect with the band and check out their music!
Yukon Blonde
Kelowna fuzz-rock group Yukon Blonde are riding the success of their latest album On Blonde which hit shelves back in June. Their genuine excitement has yet to wear off as they put on a spectacular set in Vankleek Hill last night. Making sure to not leave out any favourites, the west coast five-piece closed off the night with a definite high note. For more information on their new album, head to their website!
