Plaitum – Higher
Electro-pop powerhouse Plaitum released their debut self-titled EP on December 4th. Lead by singles “LMHY” and “Carousel”, the British duo have shared the latest track from the record “Higher”.
Channeling other synth/electro-pop favourites CHVRCHES, and The xx, Plaitum continue to impress with the pulsating, melody-dominated single. Lush electronic textures, and a solid foundation are ingredients for success on the new track, as the band explains:
“The song is about a loved one starting to decay, becoming someone they’re not and trying to pull them back from that place…Musically, it started out as a piano ballad before going through a dozen permutations and ending up how it is now. We knew this was the right way to take it when we first started working on the chorus, got too excited and blew our speakers playing it too loud.”
