“Welcome to Asshole Guitar Repair 101” greets The Dirty Nil’s lead singer/guitarist Luke Bentham in their new video for “Wrestle Yü to Hüsker Dü”.
But he could have also said “Welcome to VHS Recording 101” or “How toBecome One of the Best Canadian Punk Rock Bands to Date101″.
Based out of Hamilton, Ontario, The Dirty Nil released their debut record just last month via Dine Alone Records (read the review) to critical acclaim, and as they embark on their European/North American tour, they have shared the retro-VHS recorded music video for one of the album’s best singles.
Capturing the live performance and the rock group’s unstoppable energy, the music video regresses back to the ’90s underground scene, with low-quality video footage and rowdy crowds in tight spaces. It even recreates the daunting task of taping over old shows and footage (hopefully the wedding footage was unimportant).
