Time flies when you’re having fun, and the nine days of RBC Bluesfest flew by. Sunday evening was one of the smaller crowds all festival, but after a fully loaded two week event like Bluesfest, not everyone has the stamina to last all nine days. Regardless, the vibe of the final day was relaxed, care-free, and just the right temperature.
Although the line-up on Sunday was slightly lacklustre, there were still a handful of gems to help send off another edition of RBC Bluesfest with a strong finish.

Monday I Retire
Tucked away in the Barney Danson Theatre, Ottawa soul-pop band Monday I Retire were one of those hidden gems from the Sunday lineup. Fronted by sibling duo Ben and Mackenzie Di Millo, the five-piece band were fresh off a two-day GTA showcase and were all warmed up for their performance back home. With Mackenzie’s stunning and dominating vocal abilities leading the way, Monday I Retire brought their smooth mix of soul, funk, and jazz to the theatre, performing songs from their upcoming EP.
