OneRepublic have come quite a long way since their 2007 debut Dreaming Out Loud. They’ve shaken off the Timbaland hit single “Apologize” and have evolved into a glistening five-piece that has helped shape pop music into what it is now. Already onto their fourth studio album, OneRepublic have shared the newest single from the upcoming release “Kids”.
Fronted by Ryan Tedder, OneRepublic centre their music around his unique radio-pleasing vocals, as well as his Grammy-award winning work as songwriter and producer. Showing how far they’ve come in the past ten years, “Kids” is a warm-spirited, modern pop tune that will surely amass plenty of airtime. Incorporating electronic textures and elements, the new single shares similarities to summer pop hits from crossover DJs like Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers, although keeping a firm grip on their pop rock style. Singing of a simpler time, “Kids” hits the nostalgia button, adding another dimension to the memory-filled season of summer.
