Names Without Numbers – The Dragonfly and the Owl
Mid-west indie rockers Names Without Numbers are releasing their sophomore album Silos & Smokestacks on December 13th, almost a decade following their debut effort. Switching gears from heavier pop-punk to glossier indie emo-rock, Names Without Numbers are excited to share their latest song “The Dragonfly and the Owl”.
Written as a rock lullaby, the song shares the perspective of a parent attempting to communicate their love to their child, even though the child not yet fully understand the depth of their emotions.
“The Dragonfly and the Owl” has the band doing what they do best – writing cathcy indie pop tunes that find a way to stick in your memory, with a more mature alt-emo sound similar to Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, and late-All American Rejects. For anyone that found comfort in early-2000s indie emo-rock, Names Without Numbers is a fresh sound built on a strong foundation from the music of over a decade ago.
