Tim Baker – The Eighteenth Hole

After indie folk group Hey Rosetta! disbanded in 2017, lead singer and frontman Tim Baker launched headfirst into a solo career, releasing his phenomenal effort Forever Overhead earlier this year.

From the release is “The Eighteenth Hole”, a passionate and emotional piece written about attending your ex’s wedding at a golf course. The song was re-released on a special The Eighteenth Hole Variations EP in October, and now Baker has shared the stunning new music video to accompany.

Shot in his home province of Newfoundland, Baker worked with directors Adrian Vieni and Amos Le Blanc to find the best source of inspiration for the heavy-hearted piece.

Vieni describes the spirit of the video, saying, “[it] is an intimate study of human emotion and connection. It acts as a time capsule, capturing the profound impact others have on us throughout our lives, and the shared experiences that connect us. With each moment, we’re reminded of the choices we’ve made, the trajectory we’ve taken, and people we’ve met that have shaped us into who we are today.”

The music video features stunning shots with a haunting Terrence Malik-esque aesthetic to find an artistic narrative amongst the Newfoundland landscape.
