Enter Shikari – T.I.N.A

UK post-hardcore/electronicore band Enter Shikari are set to release their sixth studio album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible on April 17th, and they have shared the album’s third track “T.I.N.A” (or There Is No Alternative).

Over their career, the band has incorporated many philosophical and economical themes into their songs, and “T.I.N.A” is no different. The phrase “There is no alternative” ties back to UK Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and 19th century liberal think Herbert Spencer, in regards to future progress only being possible through maximizing profit within the private sector.

Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds explains:

‘T.I.N.A.’, or ‘There Is No Alternative’ is a mantra we hear from many of those in positions of power as a way to halt any rethinking of how we organise our societiesWe live in unprecedented times, the threat of catastrophic climate change as well as the current pandemic of Covid-19 prove that now is the time for big, broad and bold thinking. We believe humanity can do so much better. We need to think about what is possible. We ask everyone to join the conversation, not kill it“.

Regardless of where you stand, Enter Shikari are maintaining their hard-hitting, genre-bending sound on “T.I.N.A”. Bringing in warehouse-rave electronic beats and their signature post-hardcore energy, the new single is a great addition to their discography as they continue to evolve their sound.
