The Lagoons – Wanna Know Something
Originally from Los Angeles, California and based in Austin, Texas, brothers Joey Selan (keys, vocals, saxophone) and Ryan Selan (guitar, vocals, drums) grew up playing music together. Influenced by their mutual love for jazz, R&B, soul, and hip-hop, the Selan brothers eventually started their own musical act known as The Lagoons.
Using their childhood influences as a foundation, The Lagoons throw together the inspiration of their predecessors into a contemporary soundscape, sharing similarities with Cherub and Chromeo along the way.
After two successful EPs hitting over 50 millions streams, the duo have shared the lead single from their upcoming full-length. “Wanna Know Something” is a downtempo pop track that explores the lush and expansive abilities of synthesizers while remaining approachable and easy-listening. Backed by the duo’s classical training as jazz musicians, “Wanna Know Something” incorporates soulful melodies from both the saxophone and guitar that are brought to life with airy vocals, deep bass lines, and trap beats.
