Michael Bernard Fitzgerald – Our River
Calgary-based singer-songwriter Michael Bernard Fitzgerald has spent many years on the road as a travelling musician, performing across festivals, venues, and theatres in North America and Europe. And for some with such a nomadic lifestyle comes longing for stability and roots.
His new single “Our River” is a heartfelt look into the future, painting a picture through visually-stirring lyrics and homestead narratives. Fitzgerald sings “what if we bought ourselves a farmhouse…” before depicting a dreamy, countryside lifestyle free from worldly stress.
His painted lyrics are elevated with his rugged, poignant folk style on “Our River”, waking the sense to campfire smoke and warm summer nights while Faint electronic drum tracks help build a cinematic landscape around the song’s country-folk core. Fitzgerald adds:
