Once A Tree Let Go Of Time On Hazy New Single “Rush”

Originally from a small town near the Canadian Rockies in British Columbia, Jayli & Hayden Wolf were raised in a doomsday cult but eventually escaped and denounced their childhood faith. Eventually, the pair relocated to Toronto to pursue their dreams, Jayli as a singer and actress/filmmaker, and Hayden as a producer and multi-faceted visual artist. The pair released their debut album Phoenix back in 2017 as Once A Tree, and after a handful of stellar single releases, have shared their latest single and video “Rush”.

Fronted by Jayli’s peaceful and soothing voice, “Rush” encourages listeners to take their time and let go of instant gratification. Once A Tree expands, “We live in a world where people want instant gratification. But sometimes, chasing after that can leave you feeling empty. And the things that used to feel like magic lose their lustre.” While chasing superficial goals may leave a lacklustre effect, the duo’s new song is quite the opposite, layering together colourful electronic textures and echoing vocals to create a cushioned soundscape.
