Norwegian Rising Star HAVSUN Celebrates The Good Times With “Breaking the Night”

While you might not be able to dance the night away with your friends anytime soon, you can dance your heart out to HAVSUN’s new single, “Breaking the Night.” With a beat that steadily grows through the first verse, coupled with vocals from Fred Well, “Breaking the Night” is sure to have you dancing along from your first listen. 

Hailing from Norway, the 24-year-old artist and producer describes his work as an organic way of working with music: “It is like a creative collective. A connection of melodic spaces opening up with the energy from the wide range of very different people that I invite in…”  With all of his music, he aims to “convert good vibes into uplifting Scandanavian pop songs. The memorable beat is complemented by lyrics that speak to a universally understood experience of wanting to relive happy memories. The opening line, “I would give all of my life for one more night in Miami city”, is a familiar ode to wishing to rewind to a particular space and time. Within the chorus, Well’s asks, “Is there a way to bring me back, so you can dance, so we can dance,” tying into HAVSUN’s aspect of community. It encourages those listening to place  themselves within the song’s experience, and add their own perspective to the subject of the lyrics.

With musical ties to Kygo and Alan Walker, “Breaking the Night” is a sensational blend of pop and electronic, capturing the warm emotions of both to elevate the nostalgic feelings it evokes.
