With Rezz’s dark minimalistic style driving the song while, Underoath’s instrumentation replicates the original electronic production before blending together Grabbitz’s pop vocals with Underoath’s hardcore style. The track has a heaviness akin to Underoath’s signature sound – and yet you still end up wanting to dance along. Where you might think of EDM and hardcore as two separate, arguably opposing spectrums on the music scale, the collaboration works in an undeniable way. Coupled with the haunting lyrics and duplicating the catchy bass line of the original single, the song is a unique, standout listening experience that can appeal to fans of both genres.

Rezz asked Underoath to remix “Someone Else” after a collaboration on a previous song, “Falling which was released in January of 2019. “Someone Else” is another addition to a strong roster of songs from a producer already heralded as oozing originality and bending genres by the press.
