D.A. Stern Teams Up With Fat Tony & Colleen Green For Detective Spoof Music Video “2 Drink Minimum”
Los Angeles-based musician/producer D.A. Stern is set to release his new EP/mixtape Mmxxtape on September 25th. The collection of covers and collaborations includes his newly released single “2 Drink Minimum” featuring rapper Fat Tony and singer-songwriter Colleen Green. After Stern decided on a noir detective video for his new single, he teamed up with director Thaddeus Ruzicka to come up with the spellbinding story for the song.
“I called Thaddeus because I was excited by the idea of a noir detective finding hotdogs at a crime scene and we just started spitballing the classic tropes and calling cards of the genre”, D.A. shares. “The idea was to make a sort guerrilla-style “Sabotage” meets Raymond Chandler video, but Thad took it up a notch. And even more amazing than Fat Tony and Colleen Green agreeing to do the song was that they were down to be in the video. I’m really proud of this one and I haven’t eaten a hotdog since“.
The result is a hilarious and spot-on spoof of any and every classic detective film or movie, giving the new single its visual swagger and providing a glimpse of Stern’s comedic thought process. Starring both features Fat Tony and Colleen Green, the new music video for “2 Drink Minimum” is a retro-inspired cat-and-mouse plot that adds to its groovy, and charming laissez-faire attitude.
