Marie Dahlstorm Joins Forces With Linda Diaz, Elijah Fox & Aligo For New Single “Good Thing”
Like a squad of musical superheroes, Danish/London-based R&B artist Marie Dahlstorm has rounded up some friends for her latest release “Good Thing”, a collaboration alongside recent NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Linda Diaz, Brooklyn-based producer Elijah Fox, and rapper Aligo.
“Marie and Linda are two of my favourite vocalists in the world so I was hyped when they initially set up the session”, Fox shares. “We were on a zoom call back in April and I remember wanting to go for a summer vibe and began by playing the ukulele part on the keybord and then layering in some percussion and building out the structure. This song to me is about enjoying the little things during a difficult time (lockdown/quarantine) and being thankful for good relationships and friends.”
About the project, Linda Diaz says, “This is my first international collab and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with”. She continues, “For me, “Good Thing” embodies a playfully delivered ultimatum. At its core, it’s a song about reciprocation, communication and honoring your relationships. It was cool to see all of our interpretations of this concept come out in the song…I hope everyone can feel the love that went into this one!“
The song’s bright production brings out the summery excitement of a new fling, all the while providing a wide open space for Dahlstorm, Diaz, and Aligo to alternate verses.
