Alt-Pop Duo Chapel Let Their Thoughts Run On New Single “Pillow Talk”
Atlanta based alt-pop duo Chapel are back with new single “Pillow Talk”. Blending electronic and analog production with vibrant vocal hooks and catchy beats, the latest release is another strong hit from the up-and-comers.
Produced and recorded by the duo composed of Cater Hardin on guitar, keys, and vocals and Kortney Grinwis on drums, the track speaks to thoughts running wild and taking hold of you when they’re not reeled back in. “After a few weeks deep into quarantine, we found ourselves overthinking everything more than we have before,” shares Grinwis. “Feeling locked in with our thoughts, we wrote this song in hopes it would relieve some of the tension within ourselves.”
Accompanied by a music video that sees the duo sitting in a washed-out cloudscape, there’s a dreamlike feeling to match the lyrics: “Every night when I sleep, my brain takes over me / all my lies on repeat, I hide behind the sheets.” The video was also shot entirely by the band, who you’ll see hanging out in the clouds, playing their instruments.
Following their 2017 debut EP Sunday Brunch and two stand alone singles over 2019 and 2020, the pair are set to release more music over the course of the year.
