Arlo Parks Shares Single “Hope” Ahead Of Forthcoming LP

With the release of her highly-anticipated debut album Collapsed In Sunbeams coming out on Friday, UK singer-songwriter Arlo Parks has teased listeners with one last tune from the collection. Continuing her style of emotion-driven, melancholic lo-fi alt-pop, her new single “Hope” is a soothing ray of comfort.

About the song Parks shares, “The song surrounds isolation, being present in your pain and knowing that you’re not the only one on the planet feeling low. I think especially in times like these it’s important to focus on the inevitability that things will get better.”

The song’s steady R&B-infused melody provides the soundtrack for the short film music video, once again working alongside Molly Burdett and Robbie Ryan to tell a humbling, relatable story of friendship.

Parks continues, “This video to me is a warm, vibrant exploration of friendship and introversion. I think there’s something so powerful about the saturated, filmic textures, the human portraits and depictions of euphoria.”

The warm tones and candid clips complement the song’s invigorating and strengthening message.
