Swedish Singer-Songwriter Julia Jonas Celebrates Loved Ones With “Northern Lights”
Stockholm-based singer-songwriter Julia Jonas has released her new single “Northern Lights”, finding a charming balance between a sombre piano progression and her honey-coated vocals.
Written alongside fellow Swedish artist Monte Nour, “Northern Lights” has a heavy weight to it, despite its angelic qualities. Jonas shares, “Northern Lights is a song about the loss of someone close to you, and the time remaining knowing that every moment might be the last. The hope and the joy, trying to capture every moment while grief tumbles in uninvited in a world you can’t imagine without the presence of that person. The inevitable heartaches you try to push away until one day you realize joy and sadness can, and do, live side by side if only you let them”.
As time continues to pass at an accelerated speed, “Northern Lights” is a welcomed reminder to enjoy the little moments with those close to us as best as we can, orchestrated by Jonas’ angelic ballad. Listen below:
