Chicago Rapper Jesse 5K Shares New Track “Werkin’ and Swervin'”

From the south side of Chicago comes Jesse 5K; rapper, songwriter, and co-owner of local art gallery & performance venue Blnk Haus. Since entering the scene in 2017, Jesse has honed his skills, reaching back to influences such as Lil Wayne, Outkast, and Bob Marley to fuel his attention-grabbing hip-hop style. Set to release his debut EP Another Black Experience: Vol.1 on April 28th, he has teed up the collection with his exciting new single “Werkin’ and Swervin'”.

With a similar vocal style to Kendrick Lamar and the eccentric, psychedelic demeanour to Odd Future artists, Jesse 5k leans into the more artistic side of hip-hop on his new track. Mixing in his earlier influences with his contemporary peers, “Werkin’ and Swervin'” is a strong first impression that teases at something even bigger down the road.
