L.A. Soul-Pop Artist Rozzi Avoids An Old Flame In New Video For “I Can’t Go To The Party”

Despite the fact that parties have been on an indefinite hiatus for almost two years now, Los Angeles-based indie soul-pop artist Rozzi was still able to capture the anxiety and self-doubt that comes from bumping into an ex at a social event on her new single. From her upcoming EP Hymn For Tomorrow – out July 2nd – “I Can’t Go To the Party” is a vibrant single from the rising star that describes the “brutal” experience of facing your fears.

Rozzi shares, “I wrote the song after running into my ex boyfriend at a party and feeling like the months I’d spent getting over him had suddenly vanished. Being so affected by the sight of someone that you’re willing to let all your friends have fun without you, is a really lonely feeling.  For the video, we wanted to capture that vulnerability, moodiness, and melodrama by showing me all dressed up in diamonds, with nowhere to go… Just alone, eating popcorn in bed, with a full face of makeup on. Our brilliant director Jack Begert captured it perfectly. And of course, with the Pandemic, none of us have been able to go to any parties for the last fourteen months- so it took on a whole other meaning!”

Drawing in listeners with her glossy vocals reminiscent of artist such as Yebba and Charlotte Day Wilson, Rozzi has a charm all of her own on the fun soul-pop single. Watch the music video below and stay tuned for more music from Rozzi.
