Montreal Award-Winning Folk Artist Geneviève Racette Shares New Single “Maybe”
Canadian Folk Music Award Winner Geneviève Racette has announced her third full-length Satellite will be out in 2022. Following the success of her internationally-acclaimed record No Water, No Flowers, Racette is continuing the momentum with her stunning lead single “Maybe”. Proudly surrounding herself with female members of the industry, her upcoming project was created alongside a team half composed of female musicians and industry personnel, including the lead single which was written with the help of some friends.
“I wrote this song in my friend’s kitchen with two of my favourite songwriters”, explains Racette. “We were all hanging out in Toronto, and we turned our afternoon girl talk into a song”. Driven by her angelic vocals and soft lament, “Maybe” is about feeling less than confident in a relationship, hoping for more but feeling like a “maybe”. Her honest storytelling and lush indie folk pop melodies create a dense sonic palette, while remaining raw and relatable to many.
Listen below and stay tuned for more music from Geneviève.
