Said The Whale Continue Their LP7 Saga With New Video “Show Me Everything”
Coming off the dramatic Wes Anderson-style music video for their most recent single “Everything She Touches Is Gold To Me”, Vancouver-based indie pop act Said The Whale are continuing the narrative with their sequel “Show Me Everything”. While the prior was an adventurous and mountaineering journey to uncover the mystery of Sasquatch, the new music video dives into the consequences of mountain man Krock Dynamo’s hunting (played by co-vocalist Ben Worcester).
Mirroring the existential and sombre story caught on film, “Show Me Everything” is about differentiating between obsessions and reality, as the world’s reliance on social media and the internet seeps into the concept of self and identify. Heavy-hearted in its nature, Said the Whale use the fragility of the acoustic piano and guitar to fill in the space on “Show Me Everything”, surrounding it with a lush string arrangement featuring members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for one of the band’s most poignant songs since the track list of their 2017 album As Long As Your Eyes Are Wide.
