Vancouver’s Said The Whale Share Romantic New Single & Video For “99 To The Moon” From Upcoming LP

After providing their fans with something to look forward to in the coming months with announcement of their seventh full-length Dandelion out on October 22nd, and a North American tour announcement to follow, Vancouver-based indie pop group Said The Whale have shared another piece of the puzzle with the heartfelt and loving new single “99 to the Moon”, the latest addition following “Honey Lungs“, “Show Me Everything“, and “Everything She Touches Is Gold To Me“.

No strangers to love songs, Said the Whale bring back the glowing, deeply personal style of their earlier work with the romantic single written for co-vocalist Tyler Bancroft’s partner Laura. “This is a song about two people growing together over a long period of time”, he explains. “It’s inspired by my own experience with my partner of 11 years, with whom I have two children, and also largely inspired by another family who we are very close with. There is so much that goes into building a solid foundation in a relationship and raising a family – a million tiny moments that stack on top of each other like bricks.”

Complete with a montage of footage of the pair over the last decade and their two adorable children, “99 to the Moon” is a loveable and wonderfully charming combination of life experiences and sweet, indie pop songwriting. As for the title, it can be interpreted as the year ’99 to forever, or the 99-B Line – a bus that runs east-west in Vancouver, and the journey that goes beyond city lines.
