Aussie Singer-Songwriter Tiarnie Bites Back With Upbeat New Single “Under My Skin”

Canberra-born, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Tiarnie turns a bad situation into a bright and bouncing indie pop rock tune with her latest track “Under My Skin”. Lead by an upbeat slacker-rock style guitar riff, Tiarnie sings about infidelity with a contrasting positivity for her self-described “token happy song”.

Tiarnie’s inspiration was “one of my best friends was in a relationship with a guy who had a girlfriend the entire time, and this absolutely boggled my mind. I feel like there’s this implied connotation that if someone is cheated on, there is a power imbalance in the relationship, tilted towards the one who cheated. I had this crude image of my friend walking in on her boyfriend with another girl – and my friend’s reaction not being one of heartbreak, but just feeling embarrassed – and almost sorry – for him“.

Despite its unfortunate inspiration, Tiarnie keeps things upbeat and entertaining, accompanying the release with a live-off-the-floor cut of “Under My Skin” where smiles and dancing eliminate any lingering negativity.
