Indie Folk Act Clean Cut Kid Sign To Alcopop! Records & Team Love Records; Share Live Video For Lead Single “Woman”

Liverpool-based lo-fi indie folk quartet Clean Cut Kid have signed to Alcopop! Records for the UK release & Team Love Records for the US release of their fourth studio album Mother’s Milk, due July 2nd. While it was exclusively released on vinyl back in 2020, the full album will be available digitally for the first time this Friday.

Alongside the announcement, the band have shared a handful of rescheduled shows and the new video for the lead single “Woman”. Recorded straight to tape, the new single follows a similar rawness with its message, as it follows a father-son interaction about the important women in their lives. Commenting on the single, frontman Mike Halls says: “‘Woman’ is about my realisation that the need my dad has for my mum mirrors my own experience with my wife Evelyn. And I totally accept and acknowledge that that reliance is both necessary and beautiful.”

The video for ‘Woman’ was shot live to film in Liverpool’s legendary Parr Street Studio, featuring footage of what should have been a trial show for Clean Cut Kid’s sold out Studio Tour in March 2020. In reality it would be the only show promoting the record, and the band’s only show for 18 months due to the COVID pandemic. Nevertheless, the band’s charm and rock-infused folk sound comes out through whispering vocals and Americana groove, tugging at heart strings as the song progresses.
