Leeds Pop Newcomer Agi Finds Solace In Being Alone On New Single “Lonely”

Leeds-based pop newcomer Agi dove into music to help her combat the anxiety and discomfort from living alone during lockdown. Now onto her sophomore single, Agi has shared the anthemic and hopeful “Lonely” – the one song that came together after coming to terms with the situation.

“I wrote this song during the first lockdown when I was living alone. The thought of being alone for more than 2 or 3 days used to scare me and made me really uncomfortable.” Agi explains. “The bizarre experience of being stuck inside taught me to be okay with being by myself. It made me realise even when I’m feeling lonely, I’m never truly alone. Especially in lockdown, in a weird way, I felt more connected to people by the fact we all felt lonely.”

And in true modern pop fashion, Agi took her positive outlook and transformed it into uplifting and ear-pleasing music, lead by her soft yet powerful vocals and a crisp, engulfing pop production, courtesy of LA producer Christian Fiore – a combination which came together over Zoom. Following in the footsteps of Julia Michaels and Bea Miller, her rich pop anthem finds a sugarcoated middle ground between ambitious and relatable.
