Irish Folk Artist Ali Comerford Returns To Her Roots For New Single “Come Home”
After studying and performing as a classical violist in London and New York City, Ali Comerford eventually found the time to return to her hometown outside of Kilkenny, Ireland and shifted focus to begin writing her own music. The release of her debut album Knots is on the horizon, due on July 29th, and the neo-folk artist has shared the third and final single “Come Home”.
About the song ‘Come Home’ Comerford says “I wrote this song with someone in mind, but really it’s for anyone who wants to return home but feels that they can’t because too much has happened or too much time has passed. It is a reminder that home will always be there for them. The lyrics are filled with a hopeful longing, “Your bed’s still made, Your place is all set” but as the song continues with the persistent plea of “Come home”, the message gets lost in a sea of turbulent strings”.
As a world travelling musician, Comerford’s haunting vocals give the phrase “Come Home” a richer and deeper meaning, rounded out by a steady guitar strum and swelling string arrangement as she combines her experiences and origins together.
