Electronic Duo SACHI Share Choreographed Music Video For Latest Hit “Down On Your Luck”
New Zealand electronic duo SACHI, friends Nick Chrisp and Will Thomas, are unveiling their new EP Reveal this fall. Featuring their summer anthem “Down On Your Luck”, the pair have shared the new music video, featuring a choreographed performance shot in Auckland and directed by Chrisp.
About the video Nick shares, “We wanted a video accompaniment to Down On Your Luck that supported and furthered the ideas of the song, continuing our exploration of support networks, self sabotage and resilience through a new narrative arc – love conquers all.” Describing the song itself, he adds “For me, it’s about the power and importance of people at times of vulnerability. Having friends and family around you and being able to confide in them when you get ‘Down On Your Luck’. The beauty and immense weight that relationships carry, in that sense.”
Mirroring the idea of support, he also explains why the location was such a perfect choice, “We shot it at a warehouse in Central Auckland in May, a warehouse that coincidentally Will and I used to play indoor Netball in as kids. I worked with such an incredible team on the video, Molly Leishman produced, Mason Bennet DOP’d and Ian Craig was my 2AD, as well as our incredible leads Kayla Paige and Carl Flavell, and everybody else involved.”
With a booming pop chorus and steady dancefloor-ready bass kick, “Down On Your Luck” is an uplifting club anthem perfect. Watch the music video below:
