French Artist Laylow Unveils Cinematic Music Video For “Spécial” From Sophomore Album
From his cinematic sophomore album L’Étrange Histoire de Mr. Anderson, out now, French artist Laylow has shared the second single “Spécial” featuring fellow French performer Nekfeu and American R&B vocalist Fousheé. Showcasing his personal journey from his departure from Toulouse in the South France to his mother’s home country of Ivory Coast, the new single reflects on the obstacles Laylow has faced.
About the video, he shares, “Special people are harmful, deviant and sometimes dangerous beings. Hidden in the darkest corners of our cities, they try to exist according to their own standards, shirking their responsibilities and forgetting the common good. The Mr. Anderson Hospital is a public interest institution responsible for locating, apprehending and neutralizing these deleterious beings, in order to build a healthier society, where personal ambition and dreams are eradicated. In this video, we follow the adventures of 3 of these special people and their vain attempt to escape the system.”
Blurring the lines of genre, “Spécial” is an invigorating blend of hip-hop, psychedelic, and electronica, stepping into the boundary-less future of songwriting along the likes of Stromae and Kaky.
