UK Indie Act Suns Up Let Go Of The Past On New Single “Whatever Happened, It’s Alright Now”
Since emerging back in 2019, Sussex based indie outfit Suns Up have been picking up traction and making a name for themselves courtesy of their energetic indie rock music. Fronted by vocalist David Kelly alongside Sam Salkeld on guitar, and Matt Wagstaff on drums, the trio have released their new EP Whatever Happened, It’s Alright Now, and share the title track as the final single.
Mirroring Kelly’s return to his hometown, the new EP uncovers past emotions and childhood memories, and on “Whatever Happened, It’s Alright Now”, Kelly explores the uneasiness of being in a rocky relationship. Elaborating he shares: “I think it’s a phase that a lot of people go through where you’re really trying to make things work, but you feel like you’re going round incircles. It’s okay for relationships to need work, and it’s important you can look back together and say ‘Whatever Happened, It’s Alright Now’.”
Mixing together influences from Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club, and Bombay Bicycle Club, Suns Up keep things lively and dynamic as they come to a confident finish on the new track. Listen below:
