Miryam Solomon Shares Captivating New Single “Romance” From Upcoming EP
From her upcoming EP through South London label Albert’s Favourites, London-based artist Miryam Solomon has shared her new single “Romance”. Sweeping us into a vivid dreamlike space, Solomon allows her haunting vocal melodies to interlock with rich melodic grooves that fly in from different angles, all floating above a decorative and majestic harp arrangement.
In her own words: “Romance is a cautionary tale about desire through the veil of something beautiful and whimsical. I had this image of a Roman feast with its decadent abundance; carafes of wine, music, grapes, dance, and I wanted it to feel rich and playfully quaint. But behind it is a story about a beauty that is slightly sinister, the word steal sung as an innocent melody that is meant to dance and snake around you. It’s about the darker side of romance, one that comes with a warning: “All of the Romans paid for sins, none of the gold is mine, all of the roads lead to the end, none of the fruit is ripe for you”.
