London-based Singer-Songwriter Lu.Ci Shares Compelling Spoken Word Performance “I Need You”

Like many artists who have devote their life to music, London-based singer-songwriter/poet Lu.Ci began singing and writing at a very young age, possessed by the striking combination of lyrics and music. Now with her professional discography growing, she has shared her latest single “I Need You”.

Written during lockdown, “I Need You” combines swirling electronic textures with poised spoken word lyrics and lush singing vocals for a magical combination. Speaking of the track, Lu.Ci says, “I wrote the song during lockdown as it was a real surreal experience, life as we know it had been ripped away from us and I wanted to document it artistically. I felt lost within this period, and it dawned on me that the whole of the country, the world, were going through this same experience all at once. None of us were truly alone. Even if we had lost a part of ourselves, we were experiencing this together. That’s when I found my inspiration to create this track.

I started writing the lyrics, which naturally started as poetry and turned into a rap. My producer, Steve, Jampact recordings, came up with this amazing, ambient, electro beat and that’s when the magic happened.”
