Experimental Indie Band Wave System Share Dark-Pop Track “How Do You Feel”
Los Angeles-based composers/producers Phil Danyew and Taylor Johnson joined forces back in 2020 after touring and writing for the likes of Frank Ocean, Foster the People, and Lorde. Their mutual appreciation for cinematic, orchestral arrangements is at the heart of their sound as experimental indie band Wave System, and on their third single “How Do You Feel”, the duo maintain the dynamic and captivating songwriting style.
“’How Do You Feel’ is one of those that seemingly fell out of the sky and wrote itself”, the band share. “It’s rare when it happens, but when it does it can end up sounding like something we’ve never done before and you just get on board. That’s what you hear with the bounce, valleys, and peaks on this one. We hope you enjoy!”
A steady crescendoing of synthesizers and ethereal vocals meld with sweeping string textures and grandiose percussion for a booming listening experience.
