Berlin Metalcore Act 4 Oceans Make Sense Of Lockdown With New Single “Confined”
Berlin-based metalcore band 4 Oceans came together late December 2019, just months before the pandemic lockdown. With an international lineup, the group managed to write a handful of singles and an EP, with the member hailing from Siberia, Italy, Mexico, and of course, Berlin. Now onto their third single of 2021, the four-piece have shared “Confined”, an exploration mental health during and post lockdown.
About the new single, the band elaborate: ““Confined” deals with the topic of mental health during and post lockdown and the struggles of the contemporary among self-awareness, alienation and the over exploitation of the environment by capitalism. If these 20s brought us lockdown and isolation, we feel that it’s most urgent than ever to be open about how we feel and to learn how to communicate even when in deep waters, opposing the toxic stereotype of “happy and successful” that western modernity imprinted on us“.
Through searing djent guitar riffs, and grandiose vocals, “Confined” is a heavy-hitting metal track that is a cathartic release of pent up frustration and energy from the past two years.
