Introducing: Toronto Indie Trio Fjord Mustang Share Lo-Fi Debut “Five Years”

Long time friends Vick Egan (vocals), Devon Pelley (guitar), and Nathan Smofsky (multi-instrumentals) have been collaborating on various musical projects for the last decade or so, and have allowed their DIY, lo-fi origins to fall into place during quarantine as Fjord Mustang. Set to release their debut album Solitaire on February 2nd, the trio have shared their debut single “Five Years”.

Dreamy vocals, cool shoegaze guitars, and steady percussion mix ’90s grunge and DIY with Toronto’s defined slacker rock style for combination of old and new. Throwing regret and fear to the wind, the song’s spirit is a passionate one as the trio share: “this is a song about the hesitation of finding your own voice and confidence to speak up. It’s difficult, but if you do the hard thing, you won’t be haunted with regret years later”.

Listen below, and for the remainder of the year, Fjord Mustang will be donating 100% of streaming & bandcamp profits to Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction.
