Hamilton Emo Rock Group King Park Share Heartbreak Anthem “Everett” From Upcoming Full-Length
Hamilton-based emo rock outfit King Park is the joint effort of childhood friends Timon Moolman (vocals, guitar) and Tyler Heemskerk (bass), rounded out by Nate Wall on drums and Tristan Persaud on guitar. With their new album Everett out this Friday (October 29), the four-piece have shared its heartbreaking title track.
As expected with an emo-rock record, the album is steeped in emotion and nostalgia, focusing on the idea of something beautiful ending up painful and filled with hate. “Everett” sets the tone for the collection, detailing a coming-of-age story about the loss of innocence and the weight of a paradigm shift as adulthood inches closer – and with it, fear, shame, guilt, and heartbreak. Moolman’s aching vocals add a gritty emotive texture, brought home through a belted final chorus and colossal-sized wall of guitars and drums before leaving listeners to cool off in a soft drone of guitar.
