Despite the fuzzy Brit post-punk tones scattered into their hardcore sound, garage punksTeen Mortgage hail from Washington D.C. Drenched in sludgy effects and tinnitus-causing instrumentation, the duo have released their new EP Smoked over the weekend, leading the way with the relentless new track “Shangri-La”. Serving as a somewhat satirical punch to the “Karens” of consumerism, the song details an entitled customer from their disillusioned perspective, ringing the frustration home with searing guitar riffs and explosive percussion.
