Cinematic Alt-Rock Duo Wave System Share Lush New Single “Trust You” From Debut Record

Composers/producers Phil Danyew and Taylor Johnson worked alongside artists such as Frank Ocean, Foster the People, and Lorde throughout their career. In 2020, the pair embarked on a new adventure as Wave System, constructing cinematic post-rock mixed with approachable pop elements. With their debut full-length Inside A Dream out now, the pair have shared the latest single “Trust You”.

About the album and their writing process, Wave System share: “Like an old house exploding in slow motion and then pulling itself back together in rewind, we wanted to explore dynamic extremes with our debut record, ‘Inside A Dream.’ By building intimate verses into explosive choruses, we traversed contrasted emotions and lyrical themes ranging from doubt and distrust to love and longing. ‘Inside A Dream’ is a nine-song journey filled with soaring vocals and layered strings juxtaposed with syncopated synths. The outcome is a collection of work delivering an epic and cinematic experience we are proud to share with the world.”

With the celestial style of MGMT, combined with cinematic post-rock and Radiohead poignance, “Trust You” is a spine-chilling release that breaks through boundaries in genre and sound that gradually builds into a supernova of sound and textures.
