Alternative Act Dot Never Have Quarter-Life Crisis On New Single “You Took Your Time”
London-based act Dot Never wanted to combine their love for experimental guitar and their local club scene to create larger-than-life recordings. For their latest single “You Took Your Time”, the band combine the frantic energy of live performance with introspective existentialism for a shifting track that feels angular, edgy, and unpredictable. With their musical toes dipping into the world of Radiohead, Blur, and Massive Attack, the song feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new as it grows and grows. About the song the band share, “‘You Took Your Time’ is about feeling out of step as a person in their twenties and ultimately waiting for somebody to tell you that everything will be ok in the end. The song swings rapidly between freneticism and reflection, mirroring the restlessness of early adulthood”.
