Indie Pop Duo EXES Share New Single “Girl Of My Dreams”
Los Angeles indie pop duo EXES have returned with their latest single “Girl Of My Dreams”. The expressive and lush slow-burner leans into the concept of all good things come to an end, creating a sense of bittersweet nostalgia and romance. Bringing along guest vocalist Luke Wild, the duet between him and EXES’ Allie McDonald gives the song an additional layer of heartfelt poeticism.
EXES share: “When we set out to make the album, we knew we wanted to have a feature that would allow us to do a really different kind of song. Luke [Wild] came into the studio with the idea for ‘Girl of My Dreams’ and we instantly loved it. It is not a love song. It is not a song about falling–it’s a song about falling apart. It’s a song about a flame burning brightest just before it goes out. Shout out Studio City at night.”
The video for the track finds the three artists on a drive through Los Angeles, finding a poetic ending at a beach for the sunset, matching the song’s dreamy romanticism and cinematic melancholy.
