Mauvey Gives A Final Preview Into Upcoming Release With New Singles “Too Rush” & “Centrefold”

Vancouver/London based artist Mauvey has shared a final glimpse into the upcoming project The Florist, set for release December 10. The project’s release will be paired with a short film by the same name, consisting of accompanying music videos for featured tracks and showcasing the landscapes of British Columbia.

Sharing two singles and a music video ahead of the overall project release, “Centrefold” and “Too Rush” – which includes the release of a music video as well – Mauvey’s R&B stylings shine through. “Centrefold” showcases lyrics of affection and adoration, set against gritty production. In line with his guiding message and intention of love, the track’s lyrics shamelessly praise love for ‘“the girl of [his] dreams.“My message will always be love,” says Mauvey, who has designed his projects to distribute Love through the creative narratives of intentional songwriting, intelligent melody and hypnotic beat.

“Too Rush” further showcases that message, especially through the accompanying video, reflecting the support an individual shares for their loved ones and their community. Mauvey’s vocals deliver the song’s story atop inflections of UK garage and grime cadence. The music video was directed and produced by Mauvey alongside Amazing Factory.

The releases follow previously shared singles and the film project “9”, all in anticipation of the release of The Florist, which the artist wrote and produced entirely and recorded across studios in the UK. Wrapping up a massive UK tour in October, Mauvey is currently playing shows across Canada, and will return to the UK in December to support MOM + THE REBELS on a tour of Ireland.
