Sammy Rae & The Friends – Follow Me Like The Moon
Brooklyn collective Sammy Rae & The Friends are an absolute treat. Everything they touch seems to turn to gold, and on their new single “Follow Me Like The Moon”, the soulful musicians combine passion with Latin rhythms for a feel-good, and wonderfully down to earth release.
Katie Tupper – Danny
Saskatoon-based singer-songwriter Katie Tupper is gearing up to release her debut EP Towards The End on February 18th. Boasting a euphoric neo-soul vocal quality and silk, yet rhythmic musicality, her new single “Danny” drips with vulnerability as she looks back at a failed relationship and its final days.
Chastity – When You Go Home I Withdrawl
Whitby-based suburban emo artist Chastity released one of the best Canadian albums of 2022 this past Friday, with Suffer Summer. Its inescapable millennial melancholy bridges ’90s emo with modern day alt-rock, and on his latest single “When You Go Home I Withdrawl”, he brings together feelings of longing with fuzzy, distorted guitars for a rich and expressive single.

Long Range Hustle – Half Speed
With their new album I am alive, but only if you say I am coming out on February 25th, alt-rock group Long Range Hustle are back with another single “Half Speed”. Giving their arena sized sound a slightly more gentle and tranquil edge, the new single is nothing short of powerful and catchy – two words that are engraved in the group’s soul.
Metronomy – Things Will Be Fine
Indie rock mainstays Metronomy are still rolling out the hits ahead of their seventh studio album Small World, out February 18th. Comfortable in their sound, yet still exploring new melodic elements, their new single “Things Will Be Fine” is a hook-driven and soothing reminder that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

VISSIA – I Just Wanna Hold U
Following a successful string of dates in support of Canadian icons USS, Edmonton indie pop artist VISSIA is continuing to promote her phenomenal 2021 album With Pleasure. From the emotive and energetic release is the slow-burning hit “I Just Wanna Hold U’. Its candid and heartfelt spirit is transposed into a home video style music video, showcasing her independent artistry and humble songwriting.
Beshken – Social Suicide
NYC’s experimental electronic act Beshken are releasing their new album Pantomime on February 18th, and the latest single “Social Suicide” continues to shape its narrative, with its animated visual pairing. The video follows Beshken’s performative animated alter ego, Mimo, as he goes on an action packed adventure to save himself and those he loves. Mirroring the music, the visuals are psychedelic and colourful, and its natural ebb and flow provides an entertaining and stunning audio-visual experience.
BAYNK – Touch Me (Hold My Hand)
New Zealand electronic producer BAYNK finally released his long-awaited debut album Adolescence this past weekend. The captivating dance release jumps through different sub-genres, blending together texture, melody, and groove for a stellar collection. Both the opening and closing track on the album act as bar-raising bookends, and opener “Touch Me (Hold My Hand)” is a fantastic starting point for newcomers and long time fans alike.
