Experimental Indie Rock Act Pleasure Craft Share New Single “Dead Weight”

Since forming back in 2017 as a solo project for Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Sam Lewis, experimental alt-rock act Pleasure Craft has continued to shape and redevelop its sound courtesy of long-time collaborators Mingjia Chen (vocalist/composer), River Radcliffe (guitar), Ben Green (drums), Jeremy Ugro (keyboards), and producer Andrew Feels. From the upcoming full-length concept album Walls, Mirrors and Windows, out later this year, Pleasure Craft have shared the new single “Dead Weight”. Fitting into the concept album’s second act, “Dead Weight” sees the narrative’s protagonist grapple with self-loathing and fear brought on by a newfound self-awareness and introspection.

Mirroring the track’s moody demeanour, “Dead Weight” is a robust industrial-infused number, solidified with its crushing guitar riffs and larger-than-life production qualities. Lewis’ post-punk style vocals give a false sense of warmth from the shadows, before the song turns into a colossal wall of sound.
