Swedish Electronic Act KÅRP Shares First Chapter Of New Trilogy With EP ‘Kris’

Gothenburg-based electronic act KÅRP released their debut album Album 1 back in 2019, and instantly began working on their dystopian follow-up trilogy. The first EP, KRIS, introduces listeners to the chaos of the world; the world is burning, police are shooting innocent people to death, natural disasters and wars are forcing families to flee for their lives. The barbed wire gets sharpened by the wealthy nations borders and a pandemic is closing our societies down in a way that’s never been seen before.

The apocalyptic perspective of the music creates a relentless sense of anxiety and worry, contrasted by robust and glistening synthesizer melodies which ebb and flow, against warm, angelic vocals. Strong influences from the likes of The Knife, Goldfrapp, and Lykke Li come to mind as the 4-track effort plays through. KRIS is cinematic, mystifying, and completely enthralling for its 15 minutes.
