Introducing: UK Punk Duo Speak Never Share Debut Single “3.30am”
Hailing from Hackney, East London comes punk duo Speak Never. Composed of drummer Luke Jones, and vocalist/guitarist Jacob Jarvis, the pair make an entrance with their roaring debut single “3.30am”.
Set to release their debut EP It Might Get Better in the coming year, the lead single highlights the newcomers’ ’90s influence and emo undertones. Written about being caught in a pattern of overthinking, the band elaborate on the song: “It’s about trying to talk yourself down when you’re going on for no reason, and appreciating people for putting up with your shit when you don’t”.
Despite having been originally written as a slower acoustic effort, “3.30am” finds its stride with anthemic vocals and searing instrumentation that nods to the likes of Joyce Manor and American Football.
