Los Angeles Indie Act Tino Drima Share A Sobering Journey With New Single “Pismo”

Tino Drima is the moniker of Los Angeles indie songwriter Gregory DiMartino and his rotating cast of collaborators. The group’s latest single “Pismo” was written after DiMartino decided to stop drinking, and began the process of re-discovering what makes him inspired and happy.

“I got sober like 8 or 9 months ago and have been sorta reintroducing myself to myself and the world,” explains DiMartino. “What do I actually like, what brings me joy, what worldly stimulus actually affects me. I drove up with some friends to Pismo Beach for a camping trip and built a fire on the sand. I felt incredible and kept playing the same finger picking thing on my guitar over and over again while everyone stared at the fire with twisted little shroom smiles. I thought about momentum, how moods and emotions follow the same physics. I’d understood the Spiral, but positive forward bouncing along is real and good. Don’t dwell, jump over the quagmires, keep rolling always forward“.

His new perspective on life bleeds into the carefree demeanour of the track, creating an airy and dreamy quality that is accentuated by the steady drum rhythms and lo-fi sing-along choruses.

Tino Drima are expected to release a new album later this year.
