New York R&B Artist Elaine Kristal Stands Up Against A Toxic Relationship On New Single “Tested”
New York based R&B vocalist and songwriter Elaine Kristal has shared her new single and video for “Tested”.
After witnessing an altercation between a friend and her partner, Kristal was inspired to write her new single. About the track, Elaine said “I wrote this song after seeing my friend very upset after getting into an argument with her boyfriend. The odd thing was that he was being very insulting and disrespectful towards her. It made me wonder why anyone would stay in a relationship like that. But I also realized that there is nothing rational about love. We will often do the exact opposite of what we would advise others to do”.
The emotional side of the situation comes through her vibrant vocals and melancholic R&B style on the new song, as her childhood influences of Alicia Keys and Brandy seep into her sound.
Bringing the song’s narrative into a new world, the accompanying visual is a bright and futuristic sci-fi clip.
