Toronto Singer-Songwriter Jesse Northey Shares New Video For “Soul Seeker”

Toronto-based singer-songwriter Jesse Northey has shared his first single of 2022 with “Soul Seeker”. Boasting a warm, ’70s psych-pop foundation, the new single is a mellow and colourful indie pop tune that imprints itself via a driving melody and his slick vocals.

With its laidback, yet detailed indie pop production, “Soul Seeker” evokes a dreamy melancholic sense of introspection. “Soul Seeker” is a track about “living for the chase in the name of trying to experience more, and actually missing the point because you couldn’t see the big picture or were having too much fun to notice any sort of damage you were causing,” says Northey. “It’s a shift towards more awareness, less destruction, and the root causes of joy.”

Mirroring the music’s retro-tinge, the accompanying visual, directed by J.S. de Courcy, is possess a film-like grain, as a love triangle overtakes a rowboat.
