London Art-Rock Act Gag Salon Announce Debut EP With Frantic New Single & Video “My Gun”
London-based art-rock quartet Gag Salon have announced their upcoming debut EP Get A Load Of This Guy is set for release on June 16th via Blitzcat Records.
Leading the way is their post-pop hit “My Gun” and its eccentric homemade music video. Unpredictable and chaotic, the band turn catchy Brit-rock melodies into whirlwind guitar riffs and sing-along harmonies sprinkled with suppressed angst and intensity. The band’s jazzy piano parts compete for the stage with the unstable guitar chords as the song builds and builds. Lead vocalist and guitarist Joseph Mumford shares, “It’s about a very agitated and isolated young man taking his anger out on the world”.
Donning buckteeth and a plain sweater vest, Mumford and his pals play from within the walls of makeshift castle in a basement, bringing their unnamed protagonist to life in the accompanying music video.
